About this event

On Wednesday, 11th December 2019, at 6:30 p.m., the 2019 SRUK Emerging Talent Award Ceremony will be held at the Spanish Embassy in London. This award, sponsored by the Fundación Banco Santander, aims to recognise and support a promising young Spanish researcher who has developed their career in the UK.

Fundación Santander and SRUK will award Dr Marc Vendrell, Senior Lecturer at the University of Edinburgh.

All SRUK members are invited to attend the ceremony. Attendance to this event is by registration only.

Prior to the ceremony, SRUK members are also invited to participate in a networking café with the awardee entitled “The value of an interdisciplinar and intersectorial research: an informal discussion” at 5:30 p.m., also taking place at the Spanish Embassy. This activity will provide SRUK members the opportunity for discussing how to implement interdisciplinary approaches in their current or future projects, and also a chance to share their impressions about the opportunities and challenges arising from the cooperation with fellows from other fields. This networking café will be attended by the awardee and the chair of the evaluating committee, Prof Mercedes Maroto.

A number of microgrants are available to cover part of the travel expenses of the members attending the networking event from outside London. To obtain the microgrant, SRUK members should send us a motivation letter of a maximum length of 200 words by 25th November 2019.
